Taking control and ownership of the shipment and keeping the client pro-actively informed of the progress of the export shipments.
Registration of file on Cargowise
Booking of cargo, monitoring of stacks / loading dates and ETD's and keeping clients informed of these, Arranging movement of cargo from shipper to Port
Complete all Export shipment requirements from file registration to invoicing on Cargo wise, Including all processing and any rework required (VOC) Ensuring that invoices are completed correctly and timeously and all recoverable disbursements have been included Ability to learn Clients IT systems if interface is required
Monitoring the movement of the file and documentation so that these take place within the prescribed time frames.
Ensuring that all documentation required is completed and submitted timeously, internally and to the client.
Managing and minimizing the risk to the company and the client in regard to the shipments. ( This includes, but is not limited to , taking pro active action to ensure that any delays to shipments are minimized).
Understanding and effectively looking after the clients interests and keeping them informed of all relevant developments in the industry and the impact these will have on the clients business
Establishing and strengthening good business relationship with clients through regular visits, in conjunction with the Export Manager
Resolving queries on Invoices with the clients as well as with Credit Control and Accounts personnel ( this will include resolving the disbursement reconciliation queries with service providers)

Qualifications
Matric A relevant shipping qualification would be advantage
Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in Controller type role
Knowledge:
A thorough knowledge of export procedures ( these procedures include but not limited to customs, harbour authorities, shipping lines, banking, DCCI, Government departments, etc.)
Cargowise, OTC and various shipping line platforms
SARS knowledge is advantageous
Skills:
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills are critical in this position
Ability to make decisions , deal with Complex and adverse shipping problems as they arise, to take corrective and preventative actions to avoid a re-occurrence
Fluency in written and spoken English
Attention to detail coupled with the ability to get the work done by ensuring all roleplayers involved internally / externally meet the shipment requirements and deadlines.
A drivers license will be an advantage
