Key Focus Areas:
• Manage daily resource allocation, expenditure, and operational efficiency.
• Minimise freight/equipment damage, cargo loss, claims, and penalties.
• Ensure timely maintenance of equipment and facilities and maintain adequate consumable stock.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, client SOPs, SLAs, and OHS requirements.
• Manage timely submission of GRVs, outturns, load lists, PODs, rates, and quotations.
• Monitor container, yard, import and export stock levels, including daily checks and weekly cycle counts.
• Oversee cargo tracking, put-aways, stack dates, demurrage/detention, and WMS compliance.
• Monitor BI reports and operational performance, ensuring rework remains below 5%.
• Investigate and report operational queries, claims, incidents, damages, and discrepancies.
• Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards.
• Oversee Toolbox Talks, in-house training, staff attendance, leave approvals, and daily deliverables.
• Provide operational support and act as Stand-in Depot Manager or Admin Supervisor when required.
• Oversee the performance and deliverables of Team Leaders, General Workers, Forklift Drivers, Import and Export teams.
Minimum Requirements:
• Minium 5 years supervisory experience within warehouse environment.
• Must have experience in Freight, warehousing & / or transport industry
• Must have knowledge of General Purchasing Procedures.
• Must have basic Seafreight & Bond store knowledge.
• Must have knowledge of SARS procedures within an LCL environment.
• Must have Port Operations experience.
• Warehouse management systems
• Must have thorough Understanding of Import and Export Procedures.
• Must have In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
