Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
• Provide strategic leadership and direction across all business units.
• Develop and execute business strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
• Lead, motivate and develop management teams to ensure operational excellence and effective succession planning.
• Establish and monitor branch KPIs and performance objectives.
• Drive organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and customer focus.
• Identify organisational development requirements and implement appropriate talent development initiatives.
Operations Management
• Provide leadership and oversight of all operational functions.
• Review and optimise organisational structures, workflows and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure operational activities are conducted safely, efficiently and in compliance with legislative requirements.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve service delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness and business continuity.
• Monitor operational performance and implement corrective action where required.
• Ensure systems and digital tools are effectively utilised to support business objectives.
Commercial & Financial Management
• Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue and market share.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Support commercial teams in identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Drive customer retention through exceptional service delivery and proactive engagement.
• Take accountability for revenue, gross profit and EBITDA performance.
• Ensure effective budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
• Analyse financial performance and implement corrective measures where required.
• Manage costs, risks and resources to maximise profitability and sustainability.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of management reports, forecasts and budgets.
• Monitor contract performance and identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies, procedures and governance requirements.
• Promote adherence to Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational, commercial and financial risks.
• Maintain effective internal controls and compliance monitoring processes.
• Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where required.
People & Stakeholder Management
• Ensure effective employee discipline and performance management processes.
• Develop and maintain a high-performance culture.
• Resolve customer, employee and stakeholder concerns or conflicts effectively.
• Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups.
• Represent the organisation professionally within industry forums, customer engagements and business networks.
• Perform other reasonable duties as required by senior management.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or equivalent would be advantageous.
• 10–15 years' experience within logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain or a related industry.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management or executive leadership role.
• Proven track record in business development, operational management and financial accountability.
