Key Focus Areas:
• Full accounting and month-end close across four entities on Sage – management accounts, stock and landed-cost, fixed assets, intercompany.
• VAT and tax compliance: VAT201 submissions, import VAT, provisional and annual tax computations, and liaison with SARS and the external tax practitioner.
• Customs and import/export accounting: SAD500s, MRNs, clearing-agent reconciliations, bonded-warehouse administration and SARS RLA registrations.
• Treasury and foreign exchange: rolling cash-flow forecasting, forward-exchange cover, outward foreign payments, and bank covenant reporting.
• Debtors, creditors and payroll oversight, with day-to-day supervision of two administrators.
• Year-end file preparation, liaison on the independent review, and assembling the annual financial statement and covenant pack for the bank.

Minimum Requirements:
• Preferred: SAIPA/SAIBA/CIMA qualification (CA(SA) welcomed) with 5+ years post-qualification experience in a financial-manager or senior-accountant role.
• 3+ years in an importing, distribution or wholesale business – landed cost, stock in transit, bonded stock, foreign-currency purchasing and forward cover.
• Hands-on South African customs experience (SAD500s, MRNs, bond releases, vouchers of correction) and strong multi-entity VAT technical skills, including import VAT and SARS verifications.
• Exchange-control documentation experience for outward foreign payments; Sage and advanced Excel.
• Experience supervising staff in a small finance team, and comfortable being hands-on rather than sitting behind a bookkeeping team.
