Key Focus Areas:
• Manage and develop the team, ensuring skills, training, workload distribution and operational performance.

• Implement the company’s procurement strategy, negotiate transport rates, manage suppliers and contracts, and maintain strong partner relationships.

• Monitor operational data quality, business processes, service standards, costs, profitability and regulatory compliance.

• Oversee reporting, risk management, invoicing and the resolution of operational issues.

• Identify IT requirements and support the development and implementation of business tools and systems.

• Support business development through customer visits, tenders, pricing updates, solution implementation and KPI monitoring.

• Perform additional reasonable duties as delegated by management.

Minimum Requirements:
• Strong performance management, reporting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement corrective actions and achieve business objectives.

• Effective communication, commercial project management and stakeholder relationship-building skills.

• Knowledge of TMS and internal business systems, national and cross-border long-haul routes, processes and rates.

• Ability to provide effective administrative support and develop best-practice operational solutions.

• Matric and a relevant qualification.

• 5–10 years’ road freight forwarding experience, including 3–5 years’ staff management experience.

• Essential cross-border operations management experience, with multimodal freight forwarding and contract, supplier and client management experience.
