Key Focus Areas:
• Coordinate and monitor seafreight import shipments from origin to final destination.
• Receive and process pre-alerts and shipping documentation from overseas agents.
• Open shipment files and capture accurate shipment details on the company system.
• Track vessel schedules, shipment arrivals and cargo availability.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, customs clearing agents, transporters and clients to ensure smooth shipment coordination.
• Obtain, check and process Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and other relevant import documentation.
• Follow up on vessel arrival notices, delivery orders and outstanding shipping documents.
• Assist with customs clearance arrangements and ensure all required documentation is available for clearance.
• Monitor shipment milestones and proactively communicate delays or changes to clients.
• Arrange cargo collection and delivery once the necessary release and clearance procedures have been completed.
• Follow up with shipping lines and transporters regarding container release, collection and delivery.
• Monitor shipping line charges, including storage, demurrage and detention, and assist in preventing unnecessary additional costs.
• Assist with cost capturing, supplier invoices, client invoicing and shipment file closures.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable import regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
• Recent graduate with a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related field preferred.
• Approximately 1 year of experience in the clearing and forwarding industry, preferably in seafreight imports.
• Basic understanding of seafreight import procedures and shipping documentation.
• Computer literate with good administrative and data-capturing skills.
• Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the seafreight industry.
